I've been on a mission lately to simplify my templates - less is more! This milk crate template is one of those projects that looks detailed but is actually really easy to put together. It’s a 3D paper milk crate that you can customize in so many different ways depending on your colors and how you use it.
3D Paper Milk Crates
This template is a single file, but you can resize it to create different crate sizes. The ones shown here are 3”, 2.5”, and 2”, which makes them perfect for stacking, organizing, or using as little decor pieces.
Cardstock Matters
Because of all the small cutout details in this design, I found it works best to use a really good quality cardstock. I used Encore cardstock from 12x12 Cardstock Shop and it cut perfectly without tearing or snagging. I also found it useful to use my Cricut scraper tool to really sharpen the creases on the folds.
Color Ideas
I went with neon colors for mine, which makes them really fun and bold, but you could easily switch this up to match any theme or space. Think pastels for spring, neutrals for a more minimal look, or even school colors for a themed project. How cool would it be to gift a stack of these to your teacher in school colors filled with treats?
Make It Your Own
One easy way to customize these is by adding a square of patterned paper to the bottom inside of the crate. It’s a small detail, but it really changes the look and makes each one feel a little more unique.
