Christmas Treet Boxes

These little Christmas Treet boxes might be one of my favorite “cute but functional” projects I’ve made. They look like a tiny modern Christmas tree, but the trunk pulls out as a box so you can tuck a treat inside. I love using chapstick for these, but candy fits great too. They’re perfect for small gifts, craft fairs, or just setting around as part of your holiday decor. One of my favorite things about this design is that it doesn’t have to be a treat holder at all. You can remove the trunk and just use the tree as a bigger statement piece for a shelf, mantel, or Christmas village. It has a really clean, modern look when it’s styled that way.

What I Used

The champagne glitter cardstock is shed-free and cuts beautifully. It gives the trees that soft sparkle without leaving a mess all over your crafting space.

How These Work

The tree itself is the outer box, and the trunk is a pull-out box that holds your treat. It’s a really simple concept but feels a little unexpected when someone realizes it opens. The chapstick size fits perfectly, but any small candy works too. If you want to use these just for decor, leave the trunk out completely and scale the tree up a bit. They look really cool grouped together in different sizes for a more modern Christmas display.

Christmas + Halloween

I also made these for Halloween using black and white cardstock, and they turned out so good. They paired perfectly with my Countdown to Halloween house.

The Christmas Treet boxes also go really well with my Cookie Countdown Calendar, which is a subscriber exclusive. They also pair perfectly with my 3D gingerbread house template that’s available on my website.

Ways to Use These

  • Chapstick gifts for teachers or coworkers
  • Candy holders for craft fairs
  • Stocking stuffers
  • Place settings for holiday tables
  • Christmas village decor
  • Mantel or shelf decor when scaled up
  • Sized up to gift teachers with pens, markers, or other small writing utensils inside

They’re one of those projects that works just as well as a gift as it does strictly as decor.
